Getting Ahead of Physical Risks
Physical risks related to climate change and nature degradation are accelerating in scale and complexity, creating cascading impacts across infrastructure, supply chains, business operations and performance. This is reshaping the operating context for corporates and investors, introducing new sources of volatility, disruption, and risk.
This session will bring together corporates and investors to explore the key challenges and opportunities associated with proactively addressing physical risks associated with climate change and nature loss. The goal is to strengthen resilience within their own business operations and value chains, while also considering the implications for financing.
A case study on physical risk quantification and integration will offer insights into practical approaches for assessing exposure and estimating financial implications. It will also discuss how to integrate these assessments into core corporate processes including Enterprise Risk Management, strategy as well as business decision-making.
The session will then provide a deep dive on how nature-based solutions can be deployed to mitigate risks associated with the degradation of ecosystem services and how investors can mobilize capital to support these interventions.
Please note that there will be a networking break between the Physical Risk Deep-Dive and Nature-Based Solutions sessions. When registering, please indicate whether you plan to attend both sessions or just one.
A confirmation will be sent to you in the coming weeks if your registration if successful. Please contact cp-a@wbcsd.org if you have any questions.
